With the way WEC is doing well and generally raising profile I don't think the decision is anymore solely based on previous year's result. You could make the same case for winning: finally win > marketing job done > quit but that's probably not how it works. You build the image by continous presence/winning.


Plus the fact that Toyota clearly stated that they've will not stop going to Le Mans until they've won Le Mans at least once.

I am a huge Porsche fan and happy about that win.

But Toyota would have been the right winner, feeling so sorry for them! :( They've been strong the whole race and a few minutes before the end the car quits....I was totaly shocked, I am still.

The beauty of endurance racing. You have to build a car to go 24 hours, not 23 hours 51 mins.

Sucks, but Lemans is a fickle old lady.

Just glad I got up early for the F1 race and put on the end of the 24. If not for that, FOX's switching around of the channels meant my DVR didn't record a big chunk of the race.

Not only a cliche but also incorrect: 24 hours may still not be enough, as it is 24 hours + whatever is left from the last lap. :p

What really sucks is that the Porsche #1 (and others of course, but just using this as an example) ran for less than 22 hours and came away with 13th overall.
