IF that would ever happen (which I highly doubt), bear in mind I'm not the only one posting F1 or other racing videos ;)

Anyway, looks as though they also start using some of my pictures for news reports now :p

Or a major copyright infringement fine lands in his mail :D

As you say, I can't believe F1.com isn't posting more videos these days. Sure they have that highlight clip of every race, but they could use someone like Mattzel to upload highlights of each session within minutes after it has ended.

All the series that usually do live streaming or post a lot of videos on some official channel, are marginal series compared to F1. And for example if in this case ACO knows about the clips on Youtube, they have to think that it's simply worth it not to take them down so that a crash clip can get 15 seconds of fame. If f1.com started posting more videos, in the end it would take something away from the tv channels who also make such videos with their exclusive or whatever rights. If F1 isn't known for embracing internet's possibilities, I think it's purely because they don't have to.

Well FOM is a professional institution that does not need a video capper from here to upload videos officially for them...
And there is absolutely no need for FOM to do it quite frankly. The TV rights they sell these days contain the rights to broadcast Formula 1 online. So every channel is able to upload there own individual highlights and stuff (just as the BBC does it for instance).

I bet even the safety teams use his videos to analyse crashes and help make the sport safer!

news sites aren't using his videos because he's some highly qualified engineer with exclusive access to the latest equipment

they're using them because it means they don't have to pay royalties to the people who actually own the footage

Indeed. He's also a source which is much more reliable than most. They'll have learnt by now that if there is a motorsport incident on TV, it'll be on that channel in high quality, so it's easy to find.

He's probably right. The seating positions are designed to minimise compression. It's what Panoz went through with the IndyCars, and not being able to get seating positions right, which is why PT fractured his spine in what was a tiny accident at Long Beach in a DP01.
