I'm napping during the night so I'm not destroyed, and can stay up for the F1 race too.

I will try to stay awake with a good friend of mine. We will switch to F1 Q and Indy inbetween.

Well Aston Martin keep saying they are not a privateer, they are a works entry. So they have to be compared to Audi/Pug. They can't have it both ways.

If they got a petrol class win then I'd be extremely happy and impressed for them. But really, every company starts on a "3 year plan", none of them start this far back. Hoping year 2 brings something much better than this.

This year's predictions. Spoilered for tl;dr.
LMP1: #3 Audi (Kristensen/Capello/McNish)

Once again, the regulations have changed this year for the top prototypes, and I think it's going to end up rewarding the cars who go for consistent runs instead of the mad sprint from the get-go. It was mentioned on RLM that Audi and Peugeot might end up sending out a "hare" car in much the same way as in running races, and I think I'm going to subscribe to that theory. While qualifying was undoubtedly close (just a smidge over 0.5 seconds seperating the three factory diesels), Audi's top guns in the #3 didn't do better than 5th which hardly puts them in any position to take on the hare role. I think they're going to try a strategy similar to in 2008, where they just go for making absolutely no mistakes and for a consistent run all the way to the finish.

Honorable mention: #7 Peugeot (Davidson/Gené/Wurz)

In terms of any possible hare role, this is the Peugeot equivalant to the #3 Audi. If the winner is a Peugeot, I'm going to guess it being this one.

LMP1 petrol: #16 Pescarolo (Collard/Tinseau/Jousse)

In the past it's been relatively easy to predict the quickest P1 petrol runner, because you could place a safe bet on one of the works Aston Martins. To be blunt, that just isn't an option this year. I ended up with the good old Pescarolo Sport, or "Pescarolo Team" outfit. Which is making a comeback this year with two proven drivers from their stable, plus the very fast Julien Jousse who set the car's fastest lap in qualifying.

Honorable mentions: #13 Lola (Belicci/Boullion/Smith) and #22 Aston Martin (Ickx/Mrtin/Leinders)

The Rebellion Lolas have been consistently towards the top of the timing charts in all the practise and qualifying sessions so far this week; and I feel the #13 has a slightly better squad than its sister car. Also look out for the #22 should this turn into a race of attrition.

LMP2: #26 Signatech Nissan (Ayari/Mailleux/Ordoñez)

This class always tends to be close; and since I haven't followed the sessions live with as much attention as is needed to cast an accurate prediction, I have been going through the scoring sheets to find this year's justification. There is also a bit of "Je ne sais quoi" about the this car for me; because it's an excting new manufacurer for one thing, but also the drivers intrigue me. Especially Ordoñez, who'se story we should all be familiar with. He hasn't set the world alight with his times this week, but he's logged quick enough laps and hasn't made any silly mistakes, and I think he's going to do well in the race. The only possible issue is the reliability of the Nissan, which is new after all...

Honorable mentions: #36 RML (Newton/Erdon/Collins) and #42 Strakka (Leventis/Watts/Kane)

The RML crew have, like Ordoñez, been slogging around and doing acceptable times. Doesn't look like they went for any qualifying runs to speak of. Normally I'd put the Strakka car on top of my predictions, but their crash on Wednesday and subsequent rebuild has relegated them to an outside chance in my book.

GTE Pro: #77 Porsche (Lieb/Lietz/Henzler)

I've always said that the GT class at Le Mans has been a total crapshoot, and never before has this been more true than in 2011. It's so close, it's ridiculous, and tipping the winner is largely down to pure guesswork. This is an interesting year for me since I'm a Porsche fanboy with so many fast Porsches entered, but I've gone with last year's winners. All the drivers ended up lapping within about a second of one-another, and right up there in the slap-fight that is sure to unfold when the lights turn green.

Honorable mentions: #55 BMW (Farfus/J.Müller/D.Werner) and #74 Corvette (Gavin/Magnussen/Westbrook)

GTE Am: #57 Ferrari (Krohn/Jönsson/Rugolo)

This class is even trickier to guess, because (at least in my case) there are a lot of unknown drivers partaking. That's why I've gone with the car with the most familiar elements to it, in the Krohn Racing Ferrari F430. Honorable mention goes to the Flying Lizards.
Fully agree with you Esben, apart from LMP2, I'm going for the #49 OAK Pescarolo of De Crem/Nakano/Charouz (and not because De Crem is a talented young Belgian, before anyone accuses me of that)
