General admission costs next to nothing imho, i'm going to spa next weekend and i've paid 35 euros for the entire weekend (general admision + paddock access). Think that's a small price to pay for a whole lot o racing and a marvelous circuit. Anybody here going as well?

Rumour has it the race will be streamed here: http://www.race-rally.be/2009/1000km200 ... fault.aspx

The commentary on the stream, though, will be 50/50 English and French (which is the circuit commentary), so check out http://www.radiolemans.com for the live audio to match the video. :)

It's a shame they charge 35€ for the pitwalk again. You are forced through the pitlane from exit to entry like kettle. Not worth a single penny. They already did this at the Nurburgring where the price was 50€
In 2007 it was included in the general entry ticket which was sold at a resonable price of 20-30€ for the weekend - at least general admission is still cheap

Payed 35 last year for the paddock access. When the pitwalk started just about everyone was denied because of what you say. Then after that I discovered that 75% of the people in the paddock had general admission only. After the race they also tried to keep everyone out of pitlane till some guard decided to let everyone through. Definitely going for general admission this time.

So with general admission you can go into the paddock for the drivers autograph sessions? And with the special paddock pass you can go for a pitwalk? Is this correct? Last year I got 2 free tickets from a stranger at the entry so I didn't have to pay, but was able to go into the paddock. Pitwalk doesn't interest me.

No, I'll explain again. Last year I bought a ticket with paddock access, instead of the general admission. You can then enter the paddock via the tunnel underneath the circuit. But when the pitwalk started they didn't let us in because apparently you needed some special pass (to me it sounded a lot like the whole paddock club F1 thing). If the drivers autograph session is at the back of the pit you shouldn't have a problem, if its in the pit itself then you won't get in, at least not with a paddock pass.

My problem was that I saw a lot of people in the paddock who just had general admission. So apparently security wasn't that good and I felt ripped off because I payed 15 Euro's more. Of course all of this is based on 2008 and knowing Spa they could have easily changed it all this year.

I still remember vividly the first time I went in 2005. You just payed 20 Euro's and then you could stand wherever you wanted. Whether that was in the woods at Blanchimont or in the middle of the Pescarolo, watching a pitstop. There were only two places where you couldn't walk, on the track and in the Oreca Audi pit.

7 009 LMP1 M Aston Martin Racing PRIMAT Harold/RAMOS Miguel/TURNER Darren Lola Aston Martin 2:07.936

Peugeot and Oreca tied at the top! 8O ... One has to wonder how much the Peugeots are sandbagging though, especially with the fact that a) they have 30 extra kilos they won't be wanting for Le Mans, and b) they're the only "competitive" diesels there (Kolles does not count), meaning their performance will govern how the ACO handicaps them for Le Mans.

Don't forget that the session was interrupted by rain and that it never really dried out. Anyway, Peugeot is treating Spa like a test session for Le Mans. At Sebring one of their cars had an airco failure during the race. With the IMSA rules that wasn't a problem, they could have continued and challenged for the win. But Peugeot decided to bring the car in and work on the problem because the ACO rules say they have to cool the temperature in the cockpit. I don't think they're here to sandbag or to show off, they just want the exercise and make sure they're ready for the big one. Apparently the latest changes were done after Sebring and the car is now finished and ready for Le Mans, all they're working on now is getting the team to do their work more efficient.

Pole from last year is 1:58.069, so I don't think those laps above were serious enough in good conditions. And rule changes from last year are definitely not making that big difference.
