Why was the "last lap" shown while they could have started another lap before time ran out. It was 1:58 when they crossed the lap.

EDIT: Well, actually it would have gone 0:00 in that lap. But if it's close to the normal laptime, how do they tell beforehand if it's going to be the last lap? That's why +1 lap rule is clear.
