They're talking about the Rockenfeller crash from 2011 in the broadcast now, did we know before it was an airbourne incident?

I assumed it was just a hard crash into the barriers, but the way they're talking about it sounds like it was a proper blowover....

That's one of the crashes I'd most like to see (proper) footage of. It must have been massive.

I don't remember if it had been mentioned but I certainly wouldn't be surprised. The only video we have is of it headed into the barrier followed by an explosion of debris.

And I don't remember it being mentioned that he was out of the car before the marshals arrived and all they found was an empty car and no driver to be seen. That would have been really chilling for them.

I know one of those Marshalls, he said him and his colleague went as white as paper before releasing Rocky was sitting on the ground behind the barrier, it also didn’t help that he was present at Henry Surtees accident at Brands a couple years earlier too. This guy was hard as nail and an ex driver himself, but that was the straw that broke the camels back for him and he doesn’t Marshall anymore (afaik).

The Vanwall is very crap, only 1.8 ahead of the lead LMP2.

It didn't blowover before it hit the barrier. The onboard footage proves this as it's level when it slams the barriers. After impact though, anything is possible. I remember seeing the static cam shot once the safety vehicles arrived and I thought he'd gone into the trees on the other side of the road.

Are people in there actually happy with all the sound effects, music and other bullshit he plays over the stream, think I'll switch to the other one posted above just because of that annoying shit, imagine all that going on when you're half asleep at 2am with the stream in the background :yuk:

Hated that. Muted it and stuck RLM on for FP1. Thankfully there's a better stream now.
