To quote the Wikipedia article (because it was just a gut feeling initially for me) there's been a multitude of different start times:

Quote:
Until 2008, the race started at 16:00 on Saturday (though in 1968, the race started at 14:00 due to the lateness of the race on the calendar). In 1984 and 2007, the start time was moved ahead to 15:00 due to the conflicting election). In 2006, the ACO scheduled a 17:00 start time on Saturday, 17 June, to maximise television coverage between the World Cup games. Fourteen years later, the race began at 14:30 because of the race being in September. The next year saw the race move to mid-August and began at 16:00. From 2009, when the race took place from 13 to 14 June, to 2019 and since 2022, it starts at 15:00 local time (CEST, 13:00 UT).

Would definitely be in favour of an hour earlier start so there's more daylight running, but it is what it is

Probably no running at all if it started now though,.... :whistling:

Seems to rain only in the 1st hunaudière chicane. S/F, Mulsanne, Arnage & Indianapolis are dry.

Woohoo! Coverage started.

I'll get to see the start, but then I have to leave to deal with the real race car. Will depend on you fine fellows for updates in-between checking MT for live coverage on my phone.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Didn't realise Eurosport were using their own comm team, they've been using WEC comms all week. Not sure why they still go to the effort tbh, WEC comm team are great

What stream is closest to live?
Nothing annoys more than everyone going "GREEN" and "HERE WE GO!" and I'm like, still 3 minutes till the formation lap. ;)
EDIT: Seems like "Stream 2" here has smallest delay https://latifistreams.com/motorsport/24h-le-mans
