15 cars =/ Any reason why they won't bring the prototypes back?

post-merger, IMSA has been sensitive with scheduling in terms of team budgets & amount of run-time - hence why some classes run less & others run more. With the death of the GTLM class - it's made it more complicated as the GT3 teams used to not race at some for example.

It's the same reason why 1 or 2 races might drop from the schedule if Indy returns as a 6+ hour endurance race in 2023.

places like Lime Rock is harder to plan out a schedule as well as they can't race on Sundays at all - forcing a tight Friday/Saturday schedule for a series like IMSA.

(tbh, Daytona Beach should just swap IWSC GT's for a NASCAR Truck date in regards to Lime Rock)

We were going to go to Lime Rock, but I'm not paying $80 a ticket for 15 cars.
