What are the best spots to chill while watching cars? Anybody been there the previous years? How far can you wander around?

Nice one man, you'll love it!

I went in 2015 and 2017 so bear in mind that things might not be exactly the same now. From what I can remember you can walk around the track continuously from the exit of the Porsche Curves to the exit of Tertre Rouge, with additional spectator areas at the entrance to the Porsche Curves, Indianapolis/Arnage & Mulsanne. My personal favourite spot was the area on the inside of the entrance to the Porsche Curves (there's also an area on the outside of the track there which I've heard is great, but both times I went it was a private Travel Destinations campsite and closed to the public, don't know if that's changed). The Esses and the area around Indianapolis/Arnage are also great. I've never made it down as far as Mulsanne so can't speak for that. Really though the best thing is to walk around and see as much as you can - it's not like you'll be short on time!

Thanks, yes that's the plan! With COVID they may have restricted some areas. eg. the Tertre Rouge and North entrances are closed, hopefully that's just to limit vaccination/test pass checks and not actually fenced off areas.

From recent years it seems there are shuttles that go down to Mulsanne and Arnage areas, maybe only during the day so I'll check that too.

Looking forward to it, I've never been into endurance but the sheer number and variety of cars should be phenomenal. Any time I go to a track I'm always frustrated to never have time to enjoy all portions equally, this time as you say plenty of time to enjoy it.

Do they not have camera operators out on the Mulsanne and the back half of the circuit? CCTV coverage at Mulsanne corner.

FCY - #20 didn't tighten a wheel and is stopped by Dunlop. Fleursch stopped out on the backside of the circuit between Arnage and Porsche Curves.

Yeah, when I was watching qualifying yesterday I noticed the viewing area I was talking about at the Porsche Curves was empty, so who knows, it could be completely different this year.

Not for qualifying and practice. They'll have coverage of the whole circuit for the race
