Charlotte Motor Speedway's ROVAL hosts 2 days of racing this weekend for both stock cars & sports cars. NASCAR Cup Series returns on Sunday for their 3rd go on the ROVAL in a 400km race. Saturday will feature a all-new doubleheader with the NASCAR XFINITY Series running in the afternoon for 250 kilometers & IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship with a 2 hour / 40 minute race at night. NASCAR race discussion will be in it's own thread.

For the first time in 20 years, IMSA sports car racing returns to the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL. While this is the first in the post-merged WeatherTech Championship history, Charlotte has seen races under both IMSA Camel GT & American LeMans Series eras. Like many of the past IMSA races at Charlotte, this is apart of their NASCAR race weekend - with the Saturday being a doubleheader with IMSA & NASCAR's Xfinity Series. IMSA also joins SRO, SCCA and a couple other club-level endurance series to run a night race on the Charlotte ROVAL.

This event wasn't originally slated on the 2020 calendar, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic - it replaces the GT-only round at Lime Rock Park due to quarantine restrictions for travelers.

looking like it's gonna be a wet one this weekend for all 3 races

-

decided to not attend on Saturday, just didn't think it was worth the risks of COVID and the $50 ticket for 18 cars for IMSA & then the NASCAR portion having no practice or qualifying

If the Cup series races in the rain, I will be shocked. They still haven't yet and their first wet race being in a Chase race? Yeah, not happening.

I've always wondered how the cars would look going through a wet banking. I knew it often happen at Daytona on the Rolex 24 but today looks damn awesome

Hawksworth spun Farnbacher just before they got the restart. That was pretty silly.
