Let's start this thread with a bang - Alonso confirmed at Toyota for all rounds that don't conflict with F1.

And he'll be replacing Anthony Davidson - https://newsroom.toyota.co.jp/en/toyota/20851127.html?adid=ag478_mail&padid=ag478_mail

Good riddance to Ant. Though to be honest I'm slightly surprised that it wasn't Lopez that got moved out.

Didn't know there was a Sebring round, and a day after my 30th birthday. I'm gonna try to go to that one

Sebring is a night race I think, I seem to remember reading something crazy like it starts after the IMSA race finishes (2am UK time) and then it's going to run through the night, or something like that.

I read that too. Maybe some drivers will do a double?

I still find it highly stupid to do 2 12-hour races the same weekend at the same track. They should do some BoP for the DPi to compete with LMP2.

Will there be any P1 Hybrids (Audi-Porsche), being run by a privateer at Le Mans?

Or it'll be just Toyota + the other P1?

Penske wanted to run a privateer Porsche for this season a few months ago but was refused.

But there are a few more non-hybrid P1s this year.

I agree, make it a combined race

so Toyota is racing by themselves this season, Will Lopez try to crash both cars out at Fuji, their home race, to help Alonso to win the championship?

I was under the impression the ACO were going to try and make the Toyota and privateers more on a level playing field

So it'll be like the dark days of ALMS in its death year with one team winning every race

Fuji wants a date change so Alonso can race there.

But that would put it the same weekend as Petit Le Mans...

Why all the gloom and doom? There will be double the amount of LMP1's on the grid, every single team running something unique, and the ACO has made their intentions clear that the privateers will get some performance breaks so they can compete outright.

Can't wait for May, and it is not only because of Indianapolis!

Some people seem to have it in their head that there's nothing outside the hybrid LMP1's.

Just because it's the fastest class, doesn't mean it's the only focus.

Not going to happen unless both series' grid numbers drop to unaccetable levels. Too many classes, rules and organisational differences which were well shown in the 2012 combined race and potentially 80-car grid is too much for Sebring. This subject = beating a dead horse.
