Looks like ACO is attempting to install a Code 60-like mechanism as soon as 2014 for Le Mans, to solve the SC-issues (they call it "in-car marshalling")

Quote:
“Here we will have a surprise for you I think. I share the concerns about this and we have been working hard to find a better safety management solution.

“To make the change we want to move towards would require an in-car marshaling system, to neutralise not the whole circuit but simply a section of the circuit directly affected by an incident. That kind of system requires a high level of accuracy from a GPS based system and I hope and believe that this will be in place for 2014.”

I'm rather positive about that idea. It has worked well so far at Nurby and in the Creventic-series, as well as during several national endurance-events I've attended. Surely in an even more professional series that should not pose a problem.

well, roughly how many and for how long period? :p

Later I could check some numbers, but I think around 70% of all downforce were at the rear axle, on average, during that period of 80's and early 90's. Even with such configuration, you still need something(collision, tyre failure and etc) to trigger the flipping potential of it

4 + 1 known case (pics) without looking deeper or checking some flip list here :p But none like the 1998-1999 flips with no interference from the things you just mentioned.

Shame about the incident with Porsche. Sportscars racing, and motorsport in general, are in such a financial crisis that I hate to hear things like this to any team involved in any category these days :(

Most likely something about the ERS systems. Audi & Toyota have both had their tub writing off test shunts (and so did Peugeot). But it is a rumor. I doubt Porsche tells anything about this officially.

what was Holzer doing there? there should have been more replays

edit: finally more replays. Very strange to see a car spin like that, I would suppose some sort of car failure because if that was a mistake by Holzer.......

PS: Wasn't Holzer the one who crashed into the Toyota in Interlagos, btw?

Only reason the #1 only got a warning rather than a DT was because it was the Krohn car :p

That'd be utterly ridiculous if he lost because the car failed too early for him to sit in it.

Dare I say also a bit weird on Audi's part in terms of driver strategy?

Won't do 70% so won't score points at all.
