To quote Mulsanne Mike: "I'm surprised this conversation is even occurring, this one is a nobrainer to me."

Should reiterate that this is a conversation; nothing has been decided yet. Still. It is a no-brainer, right?

Definitely. Would be an awful decision.

All it would do is create a potentially dangerous compromise of safety. Ugh.

As for attracting teams discussed before, it looks inviting for European teams to come over, but the field cap negates that, at least for full-time entries.

Level 5 looking at dropping the P2 program and moving back to PC because "The combined classes doesn't fit our agenda"

Translated: The competition will be too high for Tucker to bend over his own drivers so he can, quite literally, fix the championship results.

Wont be any easier for him in the PC ranks. Only reason P2 was so easy was because Extreme Speed set up their P2 program so late and had an abysmal start to the year and woeful reliability.

New WR LMP1. Looking forward to the real car, those WR cars were always weird cars, but in a good way. Not Deltawing kinda weird.

Very poorly planned. It's due for introduction midway through 2014. That's too late for anyone to buy it and do a full season. There's quite a lot of 2014 chassis being designed, so it'll be hard to sell.

WR also has a bit of a history of building innovative looking cars that are both slow and a bit unreliable. Didn't they build that frickin' stupid Hydrogen powered waste of space that didn't show up at Le Mans this year?

That's a weird P1 car. Big Honking Fin is missing, rear wing looks odd and not full width and the tunnels are huge. More plausible as the new G56.

Lol, thanks for the informative response. Had a look and they did indeed build the tub.

I'm sorry, both for the response (bad evening) and the fact I was wrong, although it doesn't seem that they had a lot to do with the no-showing. I have a weak spot for teams/constructors that try something and either succeed partly or fail. I wish there were more teams like WR.

Calling cars a "waste of space" makes steam come out of my ears :p

Oh yeah, Welter had nothing to do with the no-show... that was the team of jokers they built it for. As it happens, I'd never describe a proper Welter car as a waste of space - I do have respect for those who try something different within the rules amd push the envelope of innovation.

My problem is with "wastes of space" like the Delta Wing and Green Hydrogen thing. Never intended to be serious racing prospects, they take up an entry at Le Mans that should go to proper entries issued to those actually properly competing within the rules and not using it as a cynical and easy advertising/PR stunt like Nissan's stomach-turning press releases about that stupid Zeod thing.

I'm getting too old and set in my ways for my racing to be messed with like this. :P

The R18 has a much cooler sound, and that is a Diesel...

Cool to see the Porsche RS back in action though. Has it a V6 in the back (by the sound of it not)? I wonder what they are testing with it?

So it is just Grand-Am with 2 extra LMP2's?
