Laurent Mercier gave some valid points in his roundup on Endurance-Info, for those who have knowledge of French

One of those points is that all cars HAVE to leave for China (difficult diplomatic relations etc) tonight, making it incredibly difficult to postpone the race.

Which means bad planning. :p i.e. making postponing possible before hand. And maybe Fuji should do something about the track drainage systems.

Or maybe scrap going to Shanghai in the first place, as it's a shit track. Same goes for Bahrain.

Why was this race run on sunday and not on saturday like some other wec races? Especially at Fuji you have to consider rain is always a factor

Because they wouldn't have been able to get to Shanghai in time.

Not sure if that would have helped (assuming that it would have rained on saturday instead), it might have still screwed up the freight schedules or been hard/impossible unless specifically planned for a spare day.

Then if that's the case it begs the question is if China is so fuckin difficult, why go there in the first place?

I think you misunderstand Cookie, he means run the Fuji race 24 hours earlier, not a week later
I can't see how that would screw up the freight plans for going from Japan to China, if anything it gives the teams an extra 24 hours to get all the stuff packed better, or valuable repair time.

This is just another fine example of why the FIA should never be left to organise things, they have no clue.

No misunderstanding.

My point was that if the possibility of postponing was not planned before hand at all, then having extra day might not have made any difference.

For sure any person on a internet forum would do a better job. /sarcasm

I misread cookie's post, assuming that the race was run on Saturday (forgive me, with it being in the middle of the night) and also thinking that he questioned why they ran on Saturday.

Then I don't really know why they didn't give themselves extra space. Educated guess: Sunday = more visitors (41k is pretty damn awesome considering it actually rained like a mofo)

Oh course we would, this is why TBK exists, to solve world problems one idiot at a time, is it not? ;)

If they wanted to underline the awkward shape, good job. :p

Btw, I love the new bullshit on the press release: http://www.endurance-info.com/en/andy-p ... mp1-class/

Quote:
Q: WHAT WOULD IT MEAN TO NISSAN TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE LM P1 CLASS AND HOW IMPORTANT A STEPPING STONE IS THE ZEOD RC TO ACHIEVE THAT?

Andy Palmer: “The Nissan ZEOD RC is a very important stepping stone and strategically we’d love to compete in the LM P1 class. If the rules constrain us in a way so that we’d just be another Audi or Toyota out there then we won’t come. If we’re allowed to be innovative with new powertrain and chassis technologies and be different then we’re extremely interested. Essentially my request to the team is to ‘be the bad boys’ – both on and off the track. We’re aiming to stretch the boundaries of the rules and the boundaries of physics. If we can do that and its ticks the boxes of ‘innovation and excitement for everyone’, then I don’t see any reason why we wouldn’t be here in 2015. But if we come, we come to win.”

I love that they're already demanding rule changes when they don't even definitely know what will power the ZEOD. I say that is more smokescreen just to hide the fact that G56 gives excellent exposure with minimal risk than LMP1 being the real intention. Actually that is old bullshit because words "potential LMP1 program in future" has been mentioned in pretty much every ACO-brownnosing press release about the ZEOD.

"we want to win by using a car that's outside the rules" is what he just said. They're scared if competition.

If you don't want to compete, then fuck off. This is racing, not a parade.

I love it, it looks like a proper race car! Low, big wing, diffuser, agressive look. One of the last car to run so low I think (let's hope the regulations won't change that). Love it!

They really love sticking it to sportscar fans don't they?

"Hay guyz! Remember how we used to race cars like these in proper competition? Well fuck you all!"

I don't care about all the B.S. about it being supposedly "innovative"

That pic makes it look hella cool to my eyes....

All they have to do is make it hover and we can have a real life "Wipeout 2014" :p
