Except the rear it looks a lot lesser than a Audi than I initially thought. |

I actually like it more than the open cockpit version. At least it looks safer. |

It's stickered up and marketed by Nissan. Same as before but has a roof now. So all the same issues as the old one had, but now has to cope with added complexity of doors, wipers, air con and demisters. |

Nissan ZEOD (Le Mans 2014) = RML + Nismo, engine specs wide open apparently The "original" DW in ALMS right now = Panoz/Elan that took over from Highcroft and obviously has no association with Nissan anymore, engine derives from Mazda-MZR. |

You're right about Highcroft, I forgot they'd discontinued work on the DW. However the rest of it is true if you ignore all the PR crap surrounding it, like the previous one. RML developed, again. Nismo branding. Open engine specs? Of course it has open engine specs - it doesn't comply to any regulations. It's completely open in all specs. As you just said, Nissan have nothing to do with the previous DW anymore, thus proving how ridiculous the branding all was. Once Lola sold you a car, it was still a Lola, even if they didn't have anything to do with it. Yet Nissan move onto the next vehicle, and suddenly the old one isn't called a Nissan anymore? Is it because the only Nissan thing about it was the big sticker on the side? This new project is identical to the old. It's still RML developed and run, with Nissan branding and funding, and when they move onto the next project it'll have the Nissan branding stripped so they can move onto the next cool thing to market to children. They did exactly what we said they'd do with the original DW, and they'll do it with this one too. We're not daft. |

Of course it has open engine specs Point was that the new DW apparently doesn't have a combustion engine at this point (plan is to test electric solutions first, whatever that means), so thus it can't have a rebadge engine either. What I said was just factual, I agree with the branding crap. And speaking of which, here is more sorrow for eyes and ears with Darren Cox's annoying voice. They plan to show run it at WEC Fuji. |

They said it was going to be a hybrid, then it was going to be all electric. But given current battery technology, electric race cars aren't even possible for sprint racing nevermind endurance racing. If RML Can design a very quick battery hot swap system then this project is worth it. But then again, it's still only being funded because the car is shaped like a big rubber penis and obeys no rules, rather than it has potential as an actual competitive vehicle. The American Coupe certainly has an petrol motor. But Nissan are pretending they didn't have anything to do with that one. |
