di Grassi over Rocky smells fishy. I hope Lucas has done some maturing, because I don't see this ending well. Of course, Rockenfeller had some dust ups as well.

di Grassi did well. But Gene over Rocky? I'd have never hired Gene after his 2011 disgrace, and now he has a seat over Rocky? Booo.

It's always the same, but it's always just as entertaining.

GRAND-AM: 2014 Class Structure Unveil Set For January 4

Referring to Motorsport-Total.com, LMP2 will be put into one class with DPs for two years. The DPs will get more aerodynamical freedom and more engine power to even them. Also LMP2s must use steel breaks. From 2016 LMP2 are no longer allowed. Grand Am also seeks to even GTEs and their own GT. This idea does not get much love it seems though, since the manufacturers would need to modify their cars to special specifications. MST bases these news on "sport auto" researches. No names were given but it was reported to be information from high ranked Grand Am officials.

This sounds like CCWS and Indycar merge, the worse one will get to say the most.

Well done NASCAR, you've won that one...

Now, what's next for you.... :?

I'm only surprised that they want (if that's definitive, maybe they are only looking into it) to ruin the class that is working (GTE). :?

I wouldn't mind seeing the DP's at Le Mans...they used to have a class specifically for American IMSA cars in the late 70's/early 80's. Hell, NASCAR stockcars have even competed there.

I didn't know that. Maybe they ARE shooting for something like that again. TBH, I don't really find P2 all that exciting and a DP with more power and tyres might be interesting and something unique also to be represented from America to Le Mans.

Oh, I meant the part about them having a special class at Le Mans for American IMSA cars. I knew about Herschel McGriff and co's blue balled attempt at Le Mans.

Surprised at the reaction to that......idea

Will try not to be over dramatic but that wouldn't be something I'd want to see. Not at all. No. Indeed not. Nu-uh.

I'd be surprised if the ACO would want to recognise the DP class too tbh.
