Here is the provisional Eurosport schedule:

The 6 hour practice and first qualifying should be on Eurosport 2, while the second qualifying session will be on the main channel. They are still debating on which channel to put the two support races, but looking at the grid I think it will be on Eurosport International. Depending on budget, there are discussions about lifestyle and historical programs during race week.

08:30-09:00 - E Q Highlights
09:00-09:45 - E Warm Up
14:30-15:30 - E Start
15:30-19:00 - E2
19:00-20:30 - E
20:30-23:00 - E2
23:00-11:00 - E (!)
11:00-13:15 - E2
13:15-15:15 - E Final

Keep in mind those timings are provisional, but I don't see a lot of things changing.

Will it be Shell, Gulf, or Total to take the Fuel / Oil Championship?!?

Ha :D

Audi uses Shell biofuel too, I don't know about Total & Peugeot, but Gulf is likely only a sponsor. And doesn't modern Gulf have more to do with lubricants and stuff?

Isn't it like in Le Mans Series where there is only one fuel supplier?

But back to the 24 heures. German Motorsport aktuell announced the withdrawal of Vitaphone Racing, but still a week later no other major motorsport newspaper or website announced it - not even the ACO
Bartels is quoted in the article that they have 15% of their budget not covered.

Still, I find it strange that only Motorsport akutell has this story. I start to believe they were too quick in announcing it, especially as they've lost a major part of their well reputated staff to Speedweek, including THE german sportscar experts and they have a new chief editor who worked for BILD (like The Sun) before...

Another thing is that the teams had to pay € 38.000 for their entry by April 8th, the article is from April 15th. Wouldn't be too clever to withdraw after the entry fee had to paid for reasons you knew before the deadline...

Departure in less than 50 days - Roll on Le Mans '09 8)

The ACO's made more adjustments to the diesel cars in an effort to close the gap to petrol cars which made itself apparent during Sebring. Somehow I feel the gap will still be too big, but I guess we'll find out at Spa when the regulations kick in, with the new Lola/AM vs. the new Pescarolo vs. Peugeot. Should be interesting...

Rule Changes:

- Reduction in the size of the fuel flow limiter for the diesels (down to 33mm, same as petrol cars)
- Additional 30kg of ballast to the diesels sealed by the scrutineers. Car must weigh 900kg without ballast, 930kg with.

Somehow I feel that is the intent... "in the spirit of the rules" :p

Vitaphone has withdrawn, second IMSA Performance now in. Seems to be some strange reasons behind the withdrawal regarding Porsche and/or Horag
Racing Box has withdrawn it's second Lola Coupé, which was last on the reserve list to concentrate on their car entered for the race.

Seen a rumour about of an "impending GT1 withdrawl." Not too sure who this might be, I suspect the JLOC Lamborghini but no one's confirmed anything anywhere... That would put the Barazi Zytek on the grid, and the WR next on the reserve list (which I'd love to see in the field!) :)

Withdrawals are only replaced until May 22nd.
Withdrawals later than that will have no replacement.

Just FYI

For once I'll be able to follow it quite closely. No rush in the exams at that period in time. Woohoo.

Also, a lot more appreciation for this track since I read Martin Brundle's book.

It appears that with the test day being cancelled, the first practice session on Wednesday evening will now start one hour earlier and run straight through, from 1800 local to 0000, a full 6 hour session... Looking forward to that evening for sure! :)
