Rebellion have already been ordering parts from a 3rd party supplier. The problem they had was the supplier only does them in batches, so you essentially buy bulk each time.

WEC screwed big time with their schedule on this next one.

If I'm not mistaken, at the same time there will be MotoGP at Japan too and the Japanese F1 race was just last week.

I wonder what attendance numbers are they expecting with that? Maybe even Bahrain will have more public in the end. :p

Interestingly continuing running Lola in 2013 is "the most likely scenario" for Rebellion.

Year has only 52 weeks... None of these races are held on the same track. Give this some time, during the old WSC only Le Mans itself had higher attendace than Fuji (around 80,000), so clearly there is potential. How is the attendace of the SGT races at Fuji?

They've purchased a whole bunch of spares in batches from suppliers, so it makes sense for another year.

only 52 weeks? It's one hell of available dates.

They easily could have scheduled Fuji for next weekend as there won't be neither F1 or MotoGP(although this last one I'm not sure).

This next race is gonna clash with MotoGP at the start and will clash with Korean GP in the final 2 hours. This is not the way to run a series which is not even close to being stabilished.

F1 and MotoGP are light-years ahead of WEC(I'm talking merely about the championship, and not Le Mans itself) in terms of tradition and stabilishment. With a free next weekend, it was a no-brainer to schedule just one week later. With that all being said and the fact that this is just to obvious, something must have happened which prevented a more apropriatte schedule for Fuji. But I hope things like this don't happen next year.

But it isn't the only series in the world.

Such as Shangai being 27 Oct and if you can't move that forward...

Won't bother re-checking but iirc this is the only clash with F1 GPs this year... It's not like though WEC really suffers from those clashes right now :lol:, expect in the case of the 24 itself and in that case avoiding a clash probably benefits both.

yeah, I know. The spectators numbers are really low, Le Mans apart, unfortunatelly. Still....

I'll watch the first 4 hours live, and watch MotoGPs races later, then I don't know yet if I'll stick to F1 or 6h of Fuji, as I don't like to keep switching between various things.

To sums this session up, at least regarding top LMP1s, it was incredibly tight most of the session with both Audis and Toyota with best lap of 1.28.7. Then, in the final 5 minutes or so, they went for a last running and Nakajima did a 1.27.567 followed by a 1.27.984. In the same time, Audi 1 did 1.28.4 then followed by a 1.28.296

I'm looking forward to see if Toyota can keep this advatandge in Qualifying

If the car will be reliable and the drivers don't screw up, it's looking like a home win for Toyota. I guess Audi's chance relies majorly on better fuel consuption this time as well

Interestingly, Toyota's pole is "just" 10 seconds slower than F1's fastest lap(Kova's Q2) in 2008. That's very impressive given all differences in weight, power, downforce

Toyotas disappearing at half a second a lap. Should there be no safety cars (doubt it), they'll need to splash and dash, Audis won't.
