Have this on in the background cos I'm helping with the Football Show at the radio station, but caught a corvette with a heavily smashed in bonnet earlier, did the TV broadcast capture that? :?

Almost. You just see the car spearing outside the track but not the actual crash.

I do like the high angle of the tight double apex left hander.

It's probably used for cost saving reasons, shows more of the track from that location than F1 style close up, but for whatever reason, it works.

The start was yellow as the #70 spun before the green!

#70 off again, different side of the road, missing bother left side doors. Not such a good final race for the RX-8.
