Coincidentally Italian newspaper has this column/letter which appears to be written by Montezemolo himself:

What the hell is going on then?!

Is there any substance to any rumour? Is there an American effort going on (or was that just about AAR's role in the Nissan project)? Is the unexplain McLaren facility linked with Le Mans really? Is di Montezemolo and Alonso there really for supporting privateer Ferraris?

I'd really trust Dagys most in this (or actual source of this is probably Endurance-info.com's Laurent Mercier, per the link). Dagys doesn't often write rumors in the first place, unlike RLM gang which seems to do it every other week. And writing "imminent announcemnt" is quite different to some random, cryptic tweet.

If there is an additional press conference on Saturday, there has to be written proof of that in some printed schedule handed out at the track already. Just some new G56 project is not going to cut it when doing it on a race day.

Goodwin and Dagys/Mercier are just the cover of another Cox-ploy: DeltaWing Mk3

Which makes me think, a Ferrari G56? ("aka NOT LMP1")

Imagine a LaFerrari in the spirit of Mclaren F1, that would be pretty awesome. Maybe leading to a new better Premium-GT class.

Maybe this thing was somehow related?

I read that car is just going to be the track version of the La Ferrari, similar to the FXX with the Enzo

For those in the United States who are interested, here is our TV coverage of the 24 this weekend:

8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. ET -- Fox Sports 1
4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. ET -- Fox Sports 2
5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. ET -- No TV coverage due to baseball on FS1 and Truck qualifying on FS2 (assuming Le Mans will be on Fox Sports GO Mobile app)
6:30 p.m. - 2:00 a.m. ET -- Fox Sports 2
2:00 a.m. - 7:30 a.m. ET -- Fox Sports 1
7:30 a.m. - Finish -- Fox Sports 2

So, looks like we'll have all but 90 minutes of the race on television this year. Not bad. Although not sure why they felt the need to show Truck qualifying this week when they didn't show it last week.

for those with an interest in this race but with little knowledge outside of that (basically me), how many cars have a realistic shot at the victory?

And why do some manufacturers enter just 2 cars while others (can) enter 3?

First question: basically 7 cars (the 3 Audis, 2 Toyotas and 2 Porsches); would have to be some extraordinary circumstances for Rebellion (the only other LMP1-team) to come close. The rest races for the win in their respective class.

Second question: budget and logistics. It's obviously cheaper to run 2 vs 3, and with 2 cars you only have to divide your attention to...2 cars. I think people expected Toyota to run 3 cars, and Audi might just have the edge with their 3rd car because it means that you can effectively use 1 car as "back-up" (aka the car that is suddenly leading at 9am after never being close in laptimes during the early hours)

1. All Audi's, Porsche 919's and Toyota's.

2. 2 is less than 3.

I'll take what we can get. Now if Charter would just give us FS2 in HD.

you're taking the right path, Tobias. Prepare for some good racing

I hope they keep using more and more this liveries labelled as "art". These abstract paintings looks very nice in cars, imo.

About weather, I checked 3 different forecasters and they all pretty much say 0% of rain from now untill Monday :)

Toyota confirms 2 cars for 2015, so that's done unless they pull a Peugeot: http://www.endurance-info.com/fr/presen ... -vasselon/

I have started stocking up for the race:

A crate of Red Bull,
Two bottles of Coke,
Doritos chips and dips and a packet of fruit sweets.

I will be out from 8pm till 1am as my local pub is providing a free BBQ and there's the England and Italy match at 11am. So I will be for the night stint for more epicness in this thread.
