WTF Highcroft. From being the only team to challenge the diesels to a laughing stock in a few months.

Umm: http://www.trademarkia.com/unlimited-ra ... 43289.html

If they're going to call it "Unlimited," they better be prepared to deliver a modern-day Can-Am... Not that that would make any sense in the current economic climate.

Apparently it's going to be a new support series for ALMS, all McLarens....

Wow, two staff to "look after things" and a ridiculous concept that's going to be based on one of the worst lmp1 cars ever made? This has "massive disaster" written all over it.

I see they feel the need to start sending out "Everything's just peachy!" PR stuff.... http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/94533

On the positive side chances should be increasing that instead of the that DeltaPhallus the Le Mans entry goes to the GreenGT or the electric Courage: (pics) viewtopic.php?p=451234#p451234

John Dagys was calling it the "Ultimate" Racing Championship, which I suppose would be somewhat more truthful than "Unlimited"...

Right. So.

Why do we need a new McLaren series? IMSA already has the GT3 challenge for Porsche Cup cars... Why not go on and make it a proper GT3 series? What the hell is so offputting about GT3 regs in general that IMSA has refused under all circumstances to adopt it in some form? This is getting on ridiculous.

The Robertson Racing Ford GT's were absent at Baltimore and are so too at Laguna Seca. Can't find any word on them, what's up? Concentrating on Petit?

Supposedly IMSA tried to buy the rights to the Can-Am name for the Ultimate Racing Championship, but failed. To me, that'd be the ultimate insult (see what I did there?). Using the name of a series which was almost completely open regulations, on a GT3 spec series. I can't think of anything further from the original concept of Can-Am than this.

Saw mutterings of money issues somewhere (couldn't afford to risk damage at Baltimore). Wouldn't be surprising, the Robertson personal fortune that basically funds the whole project can only go so far.

The Robertsons should stay out of the cars and let someone pay for a drive instead. Both David and Andrea are painfully slow. A proper disgrace.

I think calling them a disgrace is unfair, but they are proper amateurs when it comes to the driving. The pro car has done exceptionally well including a GT2 pole at Petit in 2009, if you'll recall, at the hands of David Murry.

Anyway as far as GT3 goes, I understand it's an ACO issue but the fact of the matter is that the ACO deal only extends to the ALMS. IMSA can do whatever the hell it wants with its support series and quite frankly should do. Maybe they don't need to be adding it to GTC while they have their ACO contract (which expires at the end of this season and is far from secure for next year) but a support series of GT3 machinery would really spice things up - especially since they've lost Atlantics.

So WEC is.

Well we knew WEC was wanting 2 rounds in the US, one being Texas. But Bahrain was mentioned, which is a joke. If the series only has the usual 6-7 rounds then we shouldn't have rounds wasted on circuits like Bahrain, or even Texas, when other more worthy tracks are about.

Forgeting all these rumours, when the WEC was announced it was said "two in America", remember. "America" also includes that other continent.

In latest blog Bear also mentioned Montreal (omgomgomg).

What would be the difference between GT3 spec cars and the Shelby CanAm series? Performance-wise I dont think it would matter much

While we're still mulling over the whole Delta Wing AMR-One debacle: http://www.highcroftracing.com/news/201 ... debut.html
