Davidson's odd double flip is clearly not only because of speed, but because of design too. It looks like Franchitti's flip at Michigan, crossing the finish line (2007?). In Dumbreck, Davidson or Franchitti's case, it would have easily finish in the trees. And we all know the trees would have won.

"but because of design too", well yes because underbody of the cars has not changed much since 2008, but something like the Mercedes flips (without any contact or sideways) cannot happen now.
