The season finale is already here for the Verizon IndyCar Series at Sears Point. Only 2 drivers are mathematically in the championship hunt, those being the Penske teammates of Simon Pagenaud (555) and Will Power (512). Currently, Pagenaud has to finish 4th or better to clinch the championship. Supporting the race weekend at Sonoma includes Pirelli World Challenge's GT & GTS classes, and the Formula Car Challenge.

yes, with the chicane at the end of the esses & the shorter hairpin.

The shorter hairpin makes sense, but they have GOT to stop running that fucking chicane. It's a goddamn abomination.

I wonder if I'll watch this. It's been a while since I watched Indy at Sonoma from flag to flag. Live or not. Really mad that the final isn't in Fontana.

Newgarden and Hinch with the wrecks in practice, Hinch out the final turn into the wall...damaged it pretty bad

Both are still expected to turn up for qualifying though.

I think the last race proved that

The fact that Power is still slightly in contention despite missing the entire first race is worth mentioning and isn't getting much acknowledgement. Great job.
