Pity IndyCar itself doesn't race there too :(

I could watch these onboards all day long. What a blast it must be

It looks relatable, unlike Indycas that are so fast that the visor cam makes it look like superhuman to race it around.

Damn that looks fun. Opposite lock on corner exit pretty much every turn!

Laguna Seca is one of a few tracks in the world where I don't care if the racing is necessarily shit, it's just awesome to watch cars on it. It's so much better than Sonoma.

With five junior series entered, it makes me wonder why Indy Car isn't racing. The Sonoma people must have a contract prohibiting Indy Car from racing at LS, otherwise it doesn't make sense why they aren't there if all those junior series are.

Other away around, I think. Laguna Seca has been tangled in some very bad NIMBY style politics for a while -- absurd sound restrictions etc. that have made even running SCCA amateur type stuff a pain, let alone professional events (see this article by Marshall Pruett).

At any rate, my understanding is also that the corporate sponsor types also love Sonoma, being basically closer to San Francisco and also within one of the biggest wine areas of the US (Sonoma / Napa). Not that Monterey doesn't have the opportunities for wine and corporate schmoozing, but it's a little further out of the way and not as huge or famous. I think Laguna is a better track myself, but as long as the NIMBY politics at Laguna Seca are this bad, a return will not happen.

Star Mazda race 1 has just happened and it was pretty good, passing at the corkscrew and a bit of an awkward pile up

Leader nearly binned it at the last corner handing it to Will Owen too, but oh well

More races coming up :)
