Eddie Sachs Jr., who runs Eddie Sachs Racing in all 3 levels of USAC open wheel competition is trying to set up a program for the team to run the 100th Indianapolis 500. Either with a full standalone operation or partnering up with a existing team. He is also trying to set up a Freedom 100 one-off for Davey Ray, who drives for the team in USAC Silver Crown.

Double points will still be awarded at Indy & Sonoma next year & Indy qualifying has been tweaked, Day 1 will determine the 33 starters & include bumping while Day 2 will determine the grid order & will award championship points.

Don't mind double points for Indy so much as it kind of makes sense given how its the biggest race & is longer than others, Sonoma however has no business been a double points race.

Also not keen on Indy qualifying although I haven't been for the past few years. The 1st day should go back to been pole day & the end should go back to been bump day, Especially if we have more than 33 cars trying to qualify because ending the final day of qualifying with drivers desperately fighting over the final slot with the occasional last minute entrant is a big part of what made the final day of Indy qualifying so tense to watch.

Make Sonoma a 500 mile race.
