In a perfect world Indycar would come down like a ton of bricks on the Ganassi organisation. Parking the lot of them for Pocono would be a good start. But that isn't going to happen in a million years...

What is especially galling as a JPM fan is that no matter what Indycar decides to do tomorrow, it won't restore the 50 point swing to Rahal that Karam's intentional spin caused... It isn't like a Singapore 2008 situation where Ferrari/Massa shot themselves in the foot all by themselves after Piquet's SC. JPM and Penske were totally shafted through no fault of their own.

Ok, Dixon also was caught out by the first caution, but the difference was that he had enough time to be able to at least make some strategy plays to regain track position. And he was only ~7s off the lead when the final, fateful, round of stops began, so would probably have ended up with a top-5 anyway...

No penalties due to "lack of evidence".

Come on Roger. Put Nelsinho in a 5th car, now.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

It is almost as remarkable a co-incidence as Karam's intentional spin that Penske should be running Piquet of all people at the Sonoma test next week!

RP needs to field a 5th entry for Piquet to counter any similar stunts by the Ganassi camp at Sonoma... I really fear the championship could be decided by a similarly engineered caution - especially with it being double points.

I think you're thinking WAY too deep into this situation.

The only reason why people are calling for Karam's head is because he drives for Ganassi. That's it. I have not seen or heard anything regarding the coincidental spinout that benefited Rahal at the end. It's just that--coincidence.

But now that this is out there, IndyCar's going to keep close tabs at both Ganassi and Penske. They're not going to let something like this affect the championship.

It wasn't the first time Karam drove like an idiot this season...

The championship will be decided, like most races this year, by who gets the most lucky with the Yellows :slaphead:
