This picture freaks me out tbh. There's something unsettling and lifeless about Power's face

Itt we learn indycar isn't proper racing

IndyCar is not the FIA Formula One World Championship, pinnacle of all motorsports.

That's OK, F1 isn't the pinnacle either. That's reserved for the WEC.

WEC is the pinacle for manufacturers, not the pinacle for drivers imo. Who remembers the names of the drivers who won Le Mans last year, not me. I only remember what car won. But I can recall the drivers who won the Indy 500 for the last 30 years from the top of my head.

For me it's the other way around. But this discussion is going to run around in circles as usual.

As they say so nicely in the language of Bourdais' home country: des goûts et des couleurs, on ne discute pas. :p

I would like to note that my comment was oozing with sarcasm, in case there is any confusion.

IndyCar is awesome, even when they're just phoning it in

So, um, this Sage Karam kid - don't really know anything about him but all I've seen of him this year is causing tons of accidents and blocking like a champ. Moved up from the lower leagues a bit too quickly?

He won Lights two years ago, so there's nowhere else he could have gone.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Wasn't Michael Andretti like, REALLY infatuated with Sage Karam from the time he was 8 or something and played creepy pedo-uncle to him most of his career?

Can't help but feel that Indycar would have been better off not racing but just drawing names out of a hat to decide the results, saved on running costs and damage etc, and ended up with the same results, drivers running up front legitimately, doing nothing wrong then ending up finishing down the order due to endless yellows, and drivers trundling around at the back ending up finishing up front :-(

That's part of racing when weather is a factor. In my opinion, the random and unpredictable nature of races like that is a nice change of pace sometimes, just so long as every race isn't like that.

I recorded and watched the two Detroit races after I got home from activities both Saturday and Sunday, and since I was able to fast-forward through caution periods, I actually really enjoyed both races.

bad weather is good for motorsports bar oval racing as create random situations and level performance

but it must happen spontaneously, or it'll make things like DRS or sprinklers for random wet track racing, it'll became artifical then boring

Those two races were great.

It's really fun, and sadly novel, when stuff actually happens in a race these days in any series.

Belle Isle is always awesome, white knuckle as fuck. The Tudor race was one of the most entertaining races of the year.
