The Indycar season continues around the city of Long Beach in southern California, shortly after the event's future as an Indycar race was assured.

There are a few changes from the non-championship event at Thermal; Jack Harvey returns to the #18, whilst Nolan Siegel will slide across to the #51. David Malukas will also miss this race because of his wrist injury, with his replacement this weekend the reigning F2 champion Theo Pourchaire.

The cars will also look a little different, as a new lighter and slimmer aeroscreen will be introduced. Another tweaked practice format will also be trialled on Friday after the mixed feedback from the first experiment at St. Petersburg.

Schedule (all times EDT)

Quote:
Friday 19th April
FP1 5:50PM - 7:05PM

Saturday 20th April
FP2 11:25AM - 12:25PM
Qualifying 2:25PM - 3:55PM

Sunday 21st April
Warmup 12:00PM - 12:30PM
Grand Prix of Long Beach 3:30PM - 5:45PM

Oh interesting, wasn’t aware Pourchaire was being lined up for this. Wonder how he will get on?

Feels like it’s been an age since St Pete. Didn’t bother watching Thermal and judging by the reaction to it, pretty glad I skipped it.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Also "This final hairpin does nothing to allow them getting a run on each other on the start finish kink to overtake into T1" time

It'll be a fuel saving procession unless a random SC comes out to throw the strategies into chaos, so in that regard it's more like Indycar's Monaco than people realise
(And with 27 cars there's way more chance of someone binning it than just Stroll or Seargent the SC creators in F1)

But also: DEGA is on at the exact same time so, conflicted...

Honestly I don't think Servia did as he was supposed to. He didn't seem to slow up all that much.
