They said yesterday that Davison has prior commitments this weekend.

Looks like it could rain at any moment. 0% chance for the day though.

Sato is running without the extra wings on the rear wheel bumpers. It makes the Honda look much nicer and sleeker than it looks with those wings in my opinion.

Dario Franchitti, Michigan 2007
There's another that I remember but cannot name for the life of me, Darren Manning was involved (2005 Chicagoland?).

And of course Mario Andretti, Marco Andetti and Sam Hornish have all suffered blowovers at Indy by either being turned on the straight or hitting debris.

That article may be insulting to you or I, but 95% of the words population haven't a clue about aerodynamics.

No. Dario went over sideways and Marco did a similar flip, same with Rice. Everyone else did a blowover with the nose lifting, not the rearend. Helio's car went over completely opposite of nearly every Indycar blowover ever and completely opposite of what the aero changes were implemented to prevent (nose lift.)

It's not even so much that Helio went over that's troubling, it's the manner in which he went over.

Don't look at me. You're the one trying to steal a handjob...in this improv scenario I made up.

So, the wicker they added to help prevent the car from getting airborne may actually make it more likely to go airborne? :slaphead:

Man! If the logic is applied to the cause of the accident!

Kals, take a look at Dario's, then look at Helio's again and tell me how exactly they're the same thing. Dario's car was dead sideways when it went airborne, not perfectly backwards like Helio.

Stop splitting hairs, you asked for NASCAR style blowovers, you didn't specify the car geometry :p

You're right, I wrongly assumed people would make the connection that no stock car (and I mean NASCAR style, not sportcars) has done a nose lift blowover before like no Indycar has blown over while heading down the track ass end first.

Look at the DP flip from Rolex 24 testing... same exact thing with the 'underwing'.

^^ That's a fair point I hadn't thought about. The undertray on the current Indycars are closer cousins to sportscars than to previous gen Indycars.
