We stay in the Southeast for a landmark race: the first ever IndyCar race in Louisiana in the fairly new NOLA Motorsports Park.

All while people wonder why a lot of customers drive more Hondas than Chevrolets...

First motor race in the New Orleans area since 1995

I think this track isn't too bad. Its built by the same guy who did Barber and Miller Motorsports Park

I already think of it as a southern Portland.

Are we just going to ignore the fact that a band called Bonerama is playing at the venue?

At least it's not a street circuit.

At least street circuits look nice and don't look like the baseball field in a trailer park.

We might have a wet race on our hands, if not some wet pracy/qualy.

Some look nice but a lot don't like the downtown Detroit circuit, Dallas from the 1980s, Vancouver, and Valencia.

Some nice looking ones are Monaco and Singapore. :)

Pippa Mann promised us Rain in the podcast chat we've just had with her.

Then sent a text to various team members who revealed the Aero Kits have had ZERO wet weather testing (it was wet at one of the pre-season tests but no-one went out on track )

This could be FUN :whistling:

I wonder what the chances of red flags or postponements are.

Also, I miss the look of a low-rent natural road course. It'll be kinda fun to see these cars streaking around the place.

Baring in mind no-one knows how much spray the aero kits will put out (but it's logically going to be higher than any wet racing of the DW12 so far) then we could well be in for a lot of SC running if race control hears that things are getting unmanageable out there.

But if it's dry for practice and wet only for the race it'll be a massive step into the unknown

However I realise we're falling into the classic trap of expecting a wet race then moaning about blue balls when it doesn't happen so I will say nothing further on the matter :p

BRITISH VIEWERS: This race will be shown live on BT SPORT EXTRA (which is the red button feed on the BT Sport channel)
If you need to record it, there's a re-airing at 4PM on Monday on the main channel

That is all.

I'd rather not see a wet race. First time here, I want to see just how fast they can be and what racing is like there in dry conditions.

NOLA Motorsports Park is the name of the venue.

I think he's referring to the band name.

Which is something I'd rather not know about.
