Montoya said you can trim downforce at that point to gain more straight line mph, which is pretty important to the overall lap time at RA (hence why Dixon was 3s off the 2000 lap record despite cornering faster).

NOLA Motorsports Park has confirmed that IndyCar will not return to the circuit in 2016, however the track is in talks with the series for a return in 2017.

Some other schedule updates: IndyCar should have a update on Pocono next week, Miles isn't optimistic on Milwaukee, Phoenix & Mexico City just need the promoters agreement signed. If Pocono doesn't happen in August, Gateway is interested in hosting a race in August.

Milwaukee needs a good promoter. It can't succeed without that, and ASM's successor doesn't seem to be interested.

Last time I checked the slot after Indy is Detroit, so get upset with Chevy\Roger Penske :wave:

Didn't like Milwaukee only survived on the calendar in recent years under the condition that there won't be a race at Elkhart Lake? They were concerned that the crowd will only attend one of those races instead of both? But with such a low crowd all around I guess it doesn't make any sense now.

NOLA seems to wanna deal with the court paperwork first.

This may be true, but before that, Texas was the race after Indy.

Pocono looking to make a decision on if the IndyCar Series will race at the track in 2016 within the next week or so.

Let's stick to post-unification to keep things simple.

2008: week after Indy, ABC.
2009: week after Indy, ABC.
2010: hiatus (first schedule after Randy Bernard took charge)
2011: June 19, ABC (week after Indy was empty, Texas wasn't until June 11)
2012: June 16, ABC (after Detroit and Texas)
2013: June 15, ABC (after Detroit and Texas)
2014: August 17, NBCSN (Mark Miles' first schedule)
2015: July 12, NBCSN

I think that speaks for itself.
