But other countries the money you earn as salary is better, the taxes are lower, tickets and everything are cheaper. And most of the taxes get back to the public, as public transportation, and other things work. And there's no fucking lobby with road bus companies that stopped the country to build railroads, flood the cities with traffic and the road with trucks.

This is a price comparison, not taking in account the different salaries and all the other taxes we have to pay here.

the main problem concerning Brasilia is that they build something that costs X, but they insists it costs 4X and in the end the costs rises up to 6X, like national stadium, at least 400 million went right to Switzerland

And they've built a "monster" you know, that "white elephant" called National Stadium in a place where you can't even find single elite football team. This is only one weird thing about Brasilia among several others, Brasilia is definetly a "magic land" of corruption. I'm one of those who still believe and defend Brasilia should have never been built in the first place, Brazil's capital should stick in Rio.

Not just in western Europe, this happens in North America as well. New NFL stadiums/MLB ballparks (lookin' at you, Marlins Park!)/sports arenas financed by taxpayer money, for starters. It's usually unpopular among the voters.

I highly doubt it's anywhere near the levels you'd get in Brazil though

ignore the price in R$ for american cars, as the north americans get paid on dollars, so they pay a lot less for a higher quality. quite amazing that a basic Corolla worth USD16.000 here they charge USD30.000 with the same features

Over here the favourite past time is to bid on a contract, then just after you started work on it say "sorry we miscalculated this is going to cost 16x what we quoted", the utterly stupid thing is instead of saying "tough shit your loss" the Government will simply pay the inflated new price.

Or take our local authority, who spent £160,000 converting a (4 in total) house to be completely off grid, in order to save £1600 a year on the residents electric bill.

Yes yes, you did work that out right, it'll take over 100 years before the cost is recovered through savings made, ignoring the fact that the panels will need to be replaced in 15-20 years (they used the cheaper panel) and the batteries every 5-10.

This is the people running our Country that make these decisions, so as I said, not exclusive to Brazil in the slightest...

Yup, that's Finland, alright. Our previous prime minister used a shitload of our national money to get himself a job in the EU. Once the job was guaranteed, he bailed out. Now Finland has more dept than ever before.

In Finland the taxes get higher, the more you earn, the more you pay, until you get that six or seven figure pay-check, then the tax rates magically goes lower. The mid-class pays the bills. Public transportation is a big fat joke outside of Helsinki and car taxation pars with your example. Then our fuel taxation is one of the highest in the world, somewhere in Singapore level, but as Finland is a big country with long distances between locations, we have to drive more.

All in all, it's probably as shitty no matter where you live/pay your taxes.

Mixing seriousness and sarcasm in the same sentence? That's bold strategy Cotton, let's if it pays of for him.

What a win-win for Pagenaud and Penske. What will the other teams do now? Will anyone else have a chance?
