Here we go again...

This time, it's a battle between Scott Dixon and Helio Castroneves. Dixon drove like he had something to prove, finishing well enough in Houston to assume the points lead. Castroneves headed to Houston as the points leader, but thanks to his engine troubles and struggles, he lost the lead. Down only by 25 points, Helio might want to do what Ryan Hunter-Reay did last year: win the championship from behind.

Unlike last year's showdown, both drivers are good oval racers so it'll be a tough task for Helio.

Hopefully there is an actual fight between them on the track and not one or both out of the race with mechanical issues and/or crashing.

I hope I didn't just jinx them

I'm very much looking forward to this race. It's a good place to close the season. It would be ironic if Will Power won. :)

I agree with the 9 p.m. start time.

Sucks.... Donkey... Balls...

UFC PPV with Velasquez/Dos Santos 3 and Mike Alvarado vs. Ruslan Provodnikov, which could very well be boxing's fight of the year will be on at the exact same time.

Plus Saturday is my birthday too. FML.

Ordinarily I'd be fine with the start time, as it would mean I don't have to spend a Saturday night watching a terrible romcom with the wife. But instead I'll be at the Devil v Rangers hockey match.

Should make things interesting

Quote:
IndyCar title rivals Scott Dixon and Helio Castroneves will both take 10-place grid penalties for engine changes in this weekend’s Fontana decider.

With the 500-mile superspeedway race placing tough demands on engines and recovering ground in the race likely to be straightforward given the ease of overtaking, tactical engine changes had been widely anticipated.

Ganassi driver Dixon leads Penske opponent Castroneves by 25 points going into the event.

IndyCar rules stipulate that engines must go 2000 miles between changes and that only five fresh engines per entry are permitted each year.

In addition to Dixon and Castroneves, Dragon driver Sebastian Saavedra, Rahal Letterman Lanigan’s Graham Rahal, Foyt racer Takuma Sato and Sarah Fisher Hartman’s Josef Newgarden are also taking new engines and grid penalties for Fontana.

Smart moves for them both IMO. Fighting for a championship with a 500-mile race in which to do it. Might as well play it safe and get a fresh engine in.

Yep, smart move. I do expect more to do the same.

I bet Helio has had enough of engine troubles.

Another thing, watching the schedule it shows the Qual session before any practice, is that right?
