ya not everyone with type 1 "diabeetus" is over weight and eats too much sugar. i have massive pancreas failure issues (if i have more than 10g of fat in a day its guaranteed im in the hospital the next day) which has led to me having blood sugar problems, a few seizures and i can no longer drive. All of this despite being in pretty good shape at 5'8''140lbs and just 27 years old, far from the the man in the diabeetus commercials haha. While im not a huge fan of his im still very very happy someone with his health issues has had this much success.
