Surprisingly, it is possible to paint a car something other than black. Rossi will race the fag packet tribute and Malukas has NTT bestowed upon him.

All of the black paint ended up on O'Ward's car, which looks somewhat like the F1 cars.

Coyne is nearly ready to put Silly Season to bed. The frontrunner appears to be Harvey (who has been in the team's sim since the Homestead test) for one car, and the other may be split between 2 drivers. Nolan Siegel is pencilled in for 2025.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

The 500 entry list is also just about complete. In addition to the 32 complete combos already announced, plus the two Coyne cars, RLLR will bring back Sato in a fourth car to make a total of 35. A 36th may be possible courtesy of Foyt, but the price tag on that car is high and no-one has yet been willing to meet it.

Nashville season finale won't be a street race but on the oval. Did not see that coming.

Love that. Curious to see if they run the short oval or big oval aero package.

hosting the final at an oval is a welcome decision but a bit worrying. Things can go south pretty quick with the actual driving standards

Intriguing. It may be the first test of the hybrid on a full-throttle oval.

Elsewhere, Malukas broke his wrist whilst mountain biking and will be out until the end of March.

Eh, Nashville is not a high banked superspeedway (or even a high banked 1.5). The track is actually closest in a sense to the Gateway oval, being slightly longer than a mile and having modest banking (but the two tracks having a very different oval shape).

Is the street race done for good because the council have turned against it, or is it just an issue with the new date or new layout? :?

I think it’s mostly due to construction on the NFL stadium.

The new layout was going to go down Broadway which btw would have been fckn badass, but I'm wondering if it was causing too much resistance from locals? I'm hoping the speedway was their backup option and they'll still pursue the street track in the future

Seems weird they spent so long hyping the shitty street layout, then making it the season finale only to shit can it after a couple of years. They almost certainly knew of the construction plans well ahead of time so that is probably the "excuse" they needed.

FOX is interested in the TV rights.

Lazy to research, but has the oval undergone any changes since reopening, layout, banking or surface? I kinda remember the grip being an issue back in the days. I hope they run some serious testing before the race.

Not that I know of. Same ol' Nashville Superspeedway.

The facilities have been upgraded IIRC.

Depends. I have a hard time seeing the IndyCars go full-throttle here if they use the low DF package. The corners are fairly tight compared to other intermediate-ish tracks of that general shape. Definitely seems doable with the short-oval package though.
