Not the biggest fan of this being a day race, but it is what it is

at least the it's a proper open wheel doubleheader with the Silver Crown race running before the rear engine cars

Palou is 101 points ahead of Dixon and 105 ahead of Newgarden. If he leaves this race 99 points ahead of both of them he will be champion.

Specially annoying if the alternate was actually the primary tire for exactly this event a few years ago. They're not even bringing a single really new tire to the event.

Turns out there was a pretty hard crash yesterday in practice. 11:43 into this video. McLaughlin spun exiting the pits and came back up onto the track, Power went high to avoid him but got into the marbles and slapped the wall. When Power spun down off the outside wall, Ericsson hit him head-on. And then 16:18 into this video, Power called McLaughlin a dumbass in an interview.
