I love it when the commentators see amazing side by side racing and are basically ticked off that they're not sitting behind and saving fuel

Oh wait....no I don't.

I know cautions and other things that occur during the race can dictate strategy, but to have them doing fuel economy runs from the drop of the green flag is such a buzzkill.

Sting Ray conked out. Caution.

Yes. It's not the first time they delayed FCY.

Why? If the car has crashed or is otherwise in a difficult position then they will put the yellow out immediately. If the car has either pulled over or spun off, they will use a local yellow and it remains perfectly safe.

This isn't F1 where the drivers don't obey the flags and never get cited for it.

He was in a position that someone could put a wheel off and spin over into him

Trust me, it's an accident waiting to happen. You tell racing drivers that they have to get back to the pits quick because a yellow might be coming out, all they care about is maximising their own delta time through the lap, not respecting anything but their own race

Besides, it's not race control's job to help the teams with strategy, their concern should be safety and the rules only

thank you

if you consider driving standards from some younger driver you can expect everything to go wrong, not in this particular incident but in places like Road America and that wacky street circuit in Nashville shit can go south pretty quick
