Annoying that actual proper support races like Indy Lights and the like aren't given a slot here in favour of fucking drifting :yuk:

way better chance of bringing new eyeballs to INDYCAR or IMSA if you have something like Formula Drift or Stadium Super Trucks on the support card tho

it's not like they are taking up any time for on-track activity either as it's all at night; just a marginal bit of pit space (which is what 8 cars worth?)

At night? So they have floodlights at LB now or are they just ok with streetlights?

Would the streetlights be ok for an Indycar night race or are they not bright enough?

I may have turned around on this issue now :D

It's just for the drift section, which is only the last 3 corners.

Ohh I see, well, that's explained all the curiosity I have about that, back to not liking drifting at all :D

They added one from yesterday it turns out. Veekay at least launched over it but Indycar doesn't seem to have told the teams.

Isn't this race usually a bit of a procession?

Unless it goes full Indycar lol

Yeah it usually relies on a few well timed cautions to mix the pack up a bit/stop them from fuel saving...

There are two standard Indycar at Long Beach races

Boring start. Random track blockage at the hairpin that brings out a SC about halfway through, batshit crazy end

OR

Huge start pile up down in T1, depleted field means not much in the way of further yellows, fuel strategy race to the end.

We'll see what we get.

Also, I don't think it's ever rained during a Long Beach race has it?
It's probably unlikely given the location, but hell, it's rained at Abu Dhabi before, so who knows.
