Jenna Fryer believes that both Andretti and SPAM are ready to make contract offers to Ericsson as soon as he is free to negotiate.

For the benefit of those that can’t watch, what happened?

She woke up one morning in intense pain with headaches, could barely walk etc. and it turned out she had a massive infection in her spine, so there was an emergency operation where it sounds like they cut the top off her spine to get access, and it was really touch and go as to whether she'd live. But she seems to be on the mend based off the show, but still recovering

Love to see when the competition/sport side gets put before the commercial side

Zak continuing to give Floyd some needle.

A lighter aeroscreen should be ready for next year.

The BitNile money appears to have dried up.

No replacement as yet, although Lundqvist was lined up to test for the team last week.

EDIT: The ECR press release references BitNile, so it appears Special Ed has been able to prise them away from Daly a la Andretti\Veach.

Daly is a likeable guy, but I can't remember the last time he actually looked competitive (other than the odd 500). Not sure if that's a fair reflection of his ability, or more a case of ECR being so weak at the moment.

RHR will complete the season in the #20.

EDIT: RACER's article suggests that performance was not the primary motivation behind Daly's sacking.

Although the conclusion of the relationship between ECR and Daly is understood to be one that has more to do with interpersonal relationships than the Hoosier’s on-track results

Elsewhere, Scotty is putting his pilot's license to good use.

He mentioned at his podcast that he didn't like Bitniles decision to give the Bitnile Onboard camera (i didn't even know that was a sponsors decision) to the fastest qualifier at Indy. No swearing or anything. Just not agreeing with that because he would have liked to have that onboard.
Rumors are floating that this is (one of) the reason(s) behind kicking him out.

Whatever breakdown there was between Daly and his sponsor has not proved terminal - there are BitNile stickers on his Nitrocross car.

Pruett is back from France and has compiled chapter 2 of Silly Season.

https://racer.com/2023/06/16/indycar-si ... lex-palou/

tl;dr
-As the title suggests, Palou's story has developed. It doesn't take a genius to see that he is doing much better where he is than any of his expected future team-mates are doing where they are, and there were rumours floating around IMS that he was now more interested in staying put. This was then supplemented by another rumour - Floyd has offered him a huge raise to stay put.
-But now another story has emerged - Palou's management is actively putting their client about in the F1 paddock. Palou has never hidden that he wants to do F1, he has a Superlicense, and there don't appear to be any vacancies at McLaren. Pruett believes that the straight-to-F1 strategy is plan A, but nothing is off the table.
-SPAM itself has also made moves in buying Andretti's current shop, and they are targeting 4 in-house cars for 2025. But for next year they still want to run an extra car, potentially in partnership with an unnamed Chevy team.
-Andretti and Ganassi remain as they were, with several theoretically open seats and Floyd still facing a headache over keeping Ericsson.
-Pruett finishes by hinting that big changes are afoot and once the market starts moving it will not be gentle.
