Just finished watching the race, I may have thrown my headphones onto the ground when a certain pit lane penalty happened. But I'm also stoked for Marcus, and thought it was badass he was wearing a tribute helmet to Ronnie Peterson

But holy shit, Leigh Diffey reached whole new levels of stating goofy stats/info

one remarkable thing from this race is that Ganassi had reached Penske 1994 levels of power, they were quite a level above when running on the lead while Penske and Andretti were nowhere yesterday

Yeah the two pit lane penalties were what saved that race yesterday

Otherwise the Ganassi cars would've tandem drafted right to the end and decided who was going to win between them, probably had a plan for that too

Indycar dodged a bullet there, they must've been cheering when they realised Ganassi had worked on everything to do with their cars and made them dominant, but forgot to work on their pit limiter speed.

Purse was made public - $16 million paid through the field with Ericcson & Ganassi getting $3 mil for the win

speaking of such stats

Jimmie Johnson is now the latest driver in the 500 to lead a lap with NASCAR/ARCA/USAC stock car experience prior to his rear engine open wheel career.

Bryan Clauson was the last to do it in 2016, before that - Robby Gordon in 1993.

(Tony Stewart could count technically - depends if you want to count his DNQ from Homestead's Busch race in 1995)
