So, this has been the fastest qualifying since 1996, as the top 2 speeds from today are within the 5 fastest runs of all time.

1st: Arie Luyendyk 236.986 mph, Reynard Ford, 1996.
2nd: Scott Brayton 233.718 mph, Lola Menard, 1996.
3rd: Rinus Veekay 233.655 mph, Dallara Chevrolet, 2022.
4th: Tony Stewart 233.100 mph, Lola Menard, 1996.
5th: Patricio O'Ward 233.037 mph, Dallara Chevrolet, 2022.

If the conditions are actually better, I'd think it's possible.

A 234 average run would have to be just 0,05 seconds faster on average in each lap.

Thanks, I put that about an hour ago and they had a sort of old broadcast on, thought it wasn’t the live stream.

Qualy sims currently underway, Ericsson fastest with a 232.960 average, Carpenter second with a 0.002 mph slower avg
