Never noticed before that the timing line is before pit entry here, very clever for qualifying. You only need 2 laps for a timed lap instead of 3 on usual circuits. You can go straight into the pits after your flying lap, no in lap required. This would be useful in F1 too, gets rid of a lot of traffic problems. They should do this at every circuit for qualifying.

Pretty sure they do do it at every circuit where it's feasible. One of the quirks of watching Indycar qualifying is realising someone has just done a blistering lap as they're pulling into their pit box lol

Yeah, IndyCar always puts the timing line for practice/qualifying in a different spot than the start/finish line they use during the race. It's great because it does help with traffic. However, I am sure there are some people who don't like it just because they can't remember where the timing line is and it makes them confused.

Neither did I. It'll be Herta or Grosjean for the win today.

How do you run out of fuel in a series with no fuel stops and TWO yellow flag periods?

That team need to apologise to Rasmussen and pay him his prize money accordingly

Did that car just break down or run into the back of someone on the first aborted start, thereby causing the 2nd? :?
