Not a fan at all of Barnhart. :( Was hoping Rossi is free of his "strategy".

2023 schedule has been released. As expected, aside from the Detroit race moving from Belle Isle to downtown, it's practically identical to last year.

Sting Ray confident of moving up for next year.

-------------------

New races are still being sought for the future. Under active consideration are Milwaukee, Monterrey, Richmond, a Denver street race and an unspecified road course in the west.

One Lights driver who is definitely moving up is Pedersen, whose deal with Foyt has been confirmed.

Ferrucci is mentioned as the preferred candidate for the other seat in this article on Kellett.

I feel like Kellett would be better suited to sports cars, or a position where he can use his engineering knowledge. Looking at his results, he has one 12th place finish and every other finish has been 17th or worse. I know that the Foyt cars are poor, but that's still a bad record over 3 seasons.

And it's happened. Kellett out, Ferrucci in.

Kellett fans, fear not;

Quote:
RACER understands Kellett and Larry Foyt were due to meet in Indianapolis on Thursday and if a deal is struck, the Canadian would participate in a third car in a part- or full-time arrangement. A call to Kellett for comment was not immediately returned.

Marco becomes the first Indy-only entry to be announced.

----------------

There will be no changes to Nashville for next year but a completely different layout will be needed for 2024.

----------------

Armstrong would like to come over, but the only full-time vacancy left is at Juncos (assuming that a gazumping of Sato\Lundqvist is not in the works).

Pruett starts to wrap up Silly Season.

https://racer.com/2022/10/19/pruett-ind ... r-edition/

tl;dr
-Johnson is expected to do the Indy 500 only, in a 5th Ganassi car. Latifi is top of the list to fill the 4th car, but he is not the only candidate Floyd has in mind.
-Palou is nailed-on to join SPAM in 2024. NTT are already headed there; the original plan was to move together, but for now they will show up on FRosen's car for a chunk of 2023.
-The current plan for Sato is a part-time third car for all of the ovals. The favourite to replace him in the full-time car is Marcus Armstrong, although Danial Frost impressed the team a lot when he tested for them and may be given the chance. No word on which crack Lundqvist slipped through.
-Juncos is taking their time in choosing their 2nd driver - Armstrong was a candidate, but that went away. Sting Ray Robb has money, but his Lights split from Juncos was difficult and there may need to be more healing there. Robb was also angling for a third ECR car, but that isn't happening.

Ugh Latifi seems like a nice guy, but there would be a lot more talented and deserving drivers out there

I think we now know why this debacle sorted itself out seemingly easy
