IndyCar returns to Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin for round #9 of the 2021 championship. 25 cars are entered for this weekend's race with a couple new drivers on the grid. Felix Rosenqvist was not medically cleared to compete this weekend after his frightening crash at Detroit, Kevin Magnussen will substitute for him at ARROW McLaren SP. Oliver Askew will return to the field for his second race in 2021 with Ed Carpenter Racing after Rinus VeeKay was injured in a bicycle crash. NASCAR Cup regular Cody Ware also joins the field in a 3rd car for Dale Coyne Racing.

Supporting the race weekend includes all 3 tiers of the Road to Indy (Indy Lights, Indy Pro 2000 Championship & Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship), Radical Cup North America & the Vintage Indy exhibition.

Pace wise, Magnussen is a decent driver (I don't think he deserved to lose his place at Haas). Not sure if he will have enough time in the car to be competitive this weekend, but it's cool if he gets some more opportunities in future. Just don't pull any stupid blocks on the backstraight...

Watched first practice and a few things to mention. Askew is once again borrowing a driving suit haha, he's using Veekay's. Just found it kinda funny since Grosjean had a Merc driving suit just for the video of his seat fitting and Askew's borrowing driving suits 2 weeks in a row. The seat K Mag is using this week is Ryan Briscoe's, who hasn't raced in Indycar since 2015, I was surprised they still had the seat. Also Johnson and Ware were faster than him today. They interviewed VeeKay and his story seemed too vague, I feel like he did something stupid and came up with the cycling accident as an excuse lol. Looking forward to the race to see how the rookies and fill-in's do.

I fucked up the youtube link, it wasn't over the kerb it was wheel to wheel contact and it's actually the Indy Pro 2000 race so I got nothing right in that post lol

As I did that print screen'in, James Rowe looked like he had a stuck throttle or puncture or something and plunged straight off into the wall bringing out another yellow
