Autohebdo reports that Grosjean will do 12 races for Coyne\Ware - this excludes all the ovals as well as one race involving right-hand corners.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

RACER spilled the beans early - Grosjean in the #51 for all 13 non-oval races. Cody Ware expected to fill for the other 4.

Grosjean said on his Twitch stream that he originally planned on running the entire schedule, but decided to skip out on the ovals for 2021 after his accident in Bahrain - primarily for the same reasons that Jimmie Johnson isn't running ovals this year (general risks + family life). However, Romain has left the door open on Gateway as it's a shorter mile track.

I feel like the lesson he should have learned is that he's indestructible and can race anything anywhere.

I think Grosjean's biggest problem prior to Bahrain is that he *did* think he was indestructible :whistling:

The main picture for the article shows that Guaranteed Rate are sticking around as the main sponsor after popping up on Palou's car near the end of last season.

Not really. The REAL lesson, is that freak, fucked up accidents, can occur anywhere. It's not just isolated to ovals.

Just look at Toronto 1996 and Laguna Seca 1999.

Oh. And Imola 1994 of course.

The places where the crashes in Imola happened were known to be dangerous, so I don't know if that supports your (good and true) argument. But yeah, look at that Indy lights crash from this year at the IMS road course where the car tripped over its own wheel and nearly paralyzed the driver.

Toronto 1996 was made worse because of the track design having a fence behind a light pole and marshals standing in the open

In the interview he did mention that it wasn't explicitly the risk that made him say no - he did acknowledge that 'many' people walk away from big oval crashes. It's more that he did not want to put his wife and kids through the period of not being sure again, which is fair enough.

Toronto was about as bad as it gets. Poor fencing, exposed marshalls, trees and light poles within striking distance with either no or inadequate protection.

Laguna and Imola we're know quantities before their moments of darkness.

Still not seeing any ticket package/pricing information for the Nashville race. I've been waiting for it for months. Need to figure it out soon or I'm just going to say "fuck it" and plan a beach vacation instead.

guessing Nashville are waiting it out w/ COVID to see where things stand in regards to crowd restrictions.

-

Kyle Busch has put a potential 500 entry on the back burner, as he wants to experience the 500 in it's fullest w/o the COVID restrictions knocking back most things

Any ideas on why Ferruci moved from a decent Indycar seat where it seemed like his career was on the up, to an Xfinity team no one's ever heard of? Anything more than money?

assuming Carlin is confirmed - then if the 2 DRR entries return, that will give us a full field. If either: Rahal fields a 3rd car, Carlin fields a 2nd car, Juncos comes back or Top Gun actually gets off the ground, then the bumping will begin

looks like Top Gun Racing is trying to put together a 500 entry with RC Enerson. Looks like possible backing (or a tribute scheme) with the US Navy Blue Angels?
