time to give the 2020 thread a break after the madness that occurred last year

Schedule version 3 has been released with St. Pete postponing a month to April 23-25

other recent tidbits:

Pat Patrick has passed away

Zach Veach will move to sports car racing in 2021, racing for Vasser-Sullivan in IMSA GTD

hearing from some inside sources that Peacock will be taking over NBC Sports Gold over the course of 2021. Unclear how soon the IndyCar Pass will transfer over, or if live ad-free races become a thing on the platform

Wouldn't be too disappointed to see him trash his career with a failed attempt at being relevant at NASCAR tbh

Not many drivers can go from being a step away from F1 to the 38th placed Xfinity team, in less than 2 and a half years. I'm actually quite impressed.

More of the same as before, with the expected combinations at Andretti and Carlin waiting for confirmation, but Coyne's seats are still up for grabs between Fittipaldi, Kimball, Grosjean and Ed Jones.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Seems PT is upset with Twitter because of reasons and deleted his account.

He made some dumbshit post about how Dale Earnhardt would never have accepted sensitivity training, people called him on his bullshit for using that as a defense for Deegan's crude language, so he deleted his account and called it "cancel culture."

I was being cheeky :p thanks for the explanation.

I sometimes prefer pre-social media times, when we didn't know as much about TV and sports personalities. Tracy was just that clumsy driver you expected to make some dumb on-track move every other Sunday when you tuned in for the race, and it stayed at that.

Tracy is dumber than I realise

It's a really really bad idea for a known outspoken right wing commentator to delete his Twitter at a time Twitter is deleting accounts of known insurrectionists

Not saying he is as bad as those kind of Trump fanatics who stormed Washington but not everyone is going to be online at the time he had the argument and people waking up to him not being on twitter is not going to look good.

Oh well, hope this means he can focus on the only thing we want to hear from him: thoughts about racing and how dirty a driver Townsend Bell was ;)

That was spectacular.

Especially since Dale was a compassionate man, see the story about the confederate flag and his black housekeeper. https://nascar.nbcsports.com/2015/07/05 ... rate-flag/

Badass is not the same as asshole

What a snowflake. :p

(Hell I'm personally kind of "OMG who cares" on the Deegan incident, but Deegan apologized and life moves on. If PT thinks it is worth getting in a hissy fit and deleting his social media over, well, bye.)

I was half expecting the reason to be that a video surfaced showing him at DC last week lol.

Don't forget him calling every driver movement on track a "Pruett fade" and his awesome nicknames like "Slick Willy P". I'd hate to lose such insightful commentary during the races lol

Well commentary is as much about entertaining the viewer as much as it is informing them (something some commentators forget sometimes as they seem desperate to stat dump on us at all times to show off how much they know about the sport)

In the commentary box he's fine, which is about the only time I want to hear from him these days.

Well, he's not. From what I know, his father at least is an Irish immigrant, which is more ironic he's a Trump supporter, if his parents emigrated to Canada, and he's an emigrant in the US.

I absolutely adored him as a driver and his outspoken way, but his behavior on social media the past few years have disappointed me.

Actually, I'd rather he does above average and eventually concentrates all his efforts there, that way we can get rid of him from Indycar
