Although he was not part of the Grosjean confirmation, Canada’s Devlin DeFrancesco – a member of Andretti’s Indy Lights team – is set to complete their IndyCar effort next season in a multi-year deal of his own to campaign the entry currently piloted by Hinchcliffe.

Like Hunter-Reay, Hinchcliffe is not a part of Andretti’s IndyCar plans beyond this weekend’s Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach.

The multi-year part makes it sound like Andretti has found the new Veach that he was looking for.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Bourdais is off to race Cadillacs for Floyd, and will only do a partial season for Foyt.

Whether it is sharing a second car or being branched out into a third car is yet to be resolved.

Penske down to 3 cars then. Puts Scotty in a very difficult position given that Will's contract is through to the end of 2023 and Newgarden's the main man in the team at the moment. If Scotty isn't winning next year, they have a lot of good options on the table to potentially replace him

My guess is he'll be replaced.

By Ticktum.

Either Roger or Ticktum would need a brain transplant before that happens. If they want Rossi (or van Kalmthout), they will go back to 4 cars for a year until Power's contract is up.

----------------------

Grosjean will debut for Andretti next Wednesday in completing his ROP. JJ will also be present.

Layout looks like shit. I know Belle Isle has its issues but moving to downtown won't help anything.

Go back to Cleveland you fucks.

it sucks they couldn't use the OG layout from the first era of downtown races with CART & F1. It makes sense why they want to move to downtown in regards to the marketing end & to get the NIMBY's off their back (even tho their park would be a dumpster fire if it wasn't for Roger & the GP helping fund the upgrades to it).

3rd manufacturer talks heating back up with TRD
https://racer.com/2021/09/29/toyota-ent ... ufacturer/

one thing to keep in mind, their old LMP1 engine just so happens to be a 2.4L V6 - which is the calling card for IndyCar's next engine regs

I forgot if the first CART races in Detroit were held on the same layout that hosted the US F1 Grand Prix? I believe there were some minor changes?

This new proposed layout is basically a simplified version of the one used by F1 in 1980s? It's like exactly the same area?

That layout will be easier to pass on than Belle Isle

Yeah I think it looks alright tbh. Probably not particularly exciting to drive, but Indycar could do with a few more road/street courses that you can actually pass on

Yeah that layout looks good for passing and absolutely nothing else.

Not strict;y Indycar news, but Ferrucci will be sponsored by HyVee at this weekend's xFinity race.

https://www.jayski.com/2021/09/27/santi ... -by-hyvee/

HyVee are putting up the money for the third RLLR car, so you can perhaps draw your own conclusions on who is filling that seat.

Okay, not a happy request, but did anyone here capture the celebration of life for Robin this morning? Missed it and from what I can tell it was a one time stream already removed from YouTube and Racer.com

Happy to see they put that back up, and thank you for sharing the link. Probably not a great idea watching it at 3 in the morning but now it's 4:30 and my smile is huge. Just a fan, but loved everything I ever read or watched, or listened to of Robin.
