Pruett throws his tuppence worth in on DCR\Vasser\Sullivan. He does not expect them to split for next season but for 2023. Jones is likely out and Grosjean is "all but confirmed to drive for another team".

A possible landing pad for Sato if Rahal heaves him over the side.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Moar Pruett, moar Silly Season.

https://racer.com/2021/07/26/pruett-the ... on-update/

tl;dr
-Grosjean to Andretti can be taken to the bank. The deal is likely to include making Grosjean a factory Honda driver, which would result in some sportscar races as well. Pruett hints that Boisson may be moving with him.
-RHR wants to stay in IndyCar but will likely have to dovetail a part-time campaign with a full-time IMSA seat.
-Hinch is also on the outs, likely to be replaced by Devlin DeFrancesco, although both Kyle Kirkwood and Oliver Askew keep floating around the discussion.
-Albon is actively looking for a seat, and is doing so on his own initative, not Red Bull's.
-Foyt will have 2 cars, and as before want to confirm Bourdais but don't yet have the money.
-SPAM are hiring staff with the intent of fielding a third car, but they will only do so for the right (young) driver.
-Carlin would like to go back to 2 cars but that is contingent on a driver bringing money.
-Contrary to earlier reports, Ericsson is not yet under contract for next year, but Ganassi want it to happen.
-Coyne is going to be rebuilding from the ground up in terms of drivers and technical staff.
-ECR's situation is dependent on money - if Daly (or someone else) comes back with the same money, the current set-up will endure. If he or someone else comes with more money, they will get the #20 for the full season and Carpenter will deploy himself in a 3rd car for the ovals.
-Harvey is in line for the #30. Askew may get a race in the #45 this season as a tryout for that car next year, although he would have to do very well to shade Ferrucci.
-Harvey's replacement could be any of the drivers who miss out at the Andretti musical chairs, or it could be Pagenaud, who wants a new start.
-Penske has previously intended to stick to 4 cars, but if Pagenaud goes, there aren't many obvious candidates to step in.

Ahh, this is at the point of the season where it seems like the next season will be 30 cars or more at every race.

Enjoy it, before you realise there's only so many chasis and in particular engine leases out there for them to all scramble over

TBF though, that makes a good case to a potential third engine manufacturer to join
"You won't just be stuck with the down on their luck cases at the back of the grid, there's a lot of quality teams out there that need engines...."

Glad we still have Robin, but it honestly doesn't sound like for long, and that read as a farewell letter, career wise. One of the best in his field and an AOWR treasure.

This afternoon's been full of good news.

Makes 26 full-time cars for next season (assuming all of this year's full-timers return). Could reach 28 if the 3rd cars at SPAM and RLLR come to fruition.

Norris Indy 500?

More likely someone taking over Rosenqvists seat I bet. They made mention of them ditching drivers after a year, so...

There were rumours of a third full-time car. Maybe it's that?

For Rosenqvist's sake I'd hope so.

So who would they put in it?
