Electro-PACER was the proto-VSC haha

I'm glad IndyCar doesn't resort to the overtime, as it could lead to pileups in ovals and yakety sax moments at road courses

I have no problem with a yellow finish, I had a bit of an issue with a driver lying prone on the track with the field trundling by every 2 mins while the medical staff were trying to treat him

To hell with tradition, red flag the thing and call it, there was no need for them to run those final 3 laps under yellow with that pile of wreckage and a possibly seriously injured driver lying on the start/finish straight.

Sadly, saying that kind of thing got you lumped in with the GWC demanding "Yellow flag finishes SUCK, tHeY sHouLD aLwAyS fInISh UnDeR gReEn" type people.

I understand that safety is paramount, but if he had been seriously injured I'm sure the Medical staff would have communicated that and they would have stopped the cars. We saw him climb out of the car himself so he obviously wasn't seriously injured, though I'm sure he didn't feel great once the adrenaline started wearing off.

I also see that point. Problem is that, since it's less than 5 to go, a red flag is basically race over because it takes about 4 or so laps to get whatever they need to do done. And, as mentioned before, the repairs would take at least an hour. There was no way this race was getting restarted, red flag or not.

I do agree with throwing the red flag for safety purposes (especially for that reason), however.

Yeah, I don't understand the problem of race ending under caution. This has happened at Indy through out the decades, whether it's due rain, accident or mechanical problem. Then there have been dominant performances that have ended the race long before the finish.

But with that said, quite many, myself included handed it out to Dixon way too early. That's why I love Indy500. You can never be too sure of what will happen and who's going to win it.

my main concern was actually a row of service trucks on the pitwall side with the track marshalls looking at the entrance and ambulance and another service vehicles on the other side attending Pigot, leaving only a small gap for the cars get through, even at smaller speeds shit could happen

Willing to bet there's an embarrased mechanic out there that left a brake calliper closed when it should be open or accidentally left a tool in the brakes somehow

They don't just do that by themselves
