Looks like there's another proposal for a street race in Nashville ongoing

Miller thinks that COTA is dead, so it would be nice to have a replacement on tap if necessary. Or as an addition.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Brad Hockaday has been fired by IndyCar following a social media post showing his displeasure with NASCAR's recent policy changes.

well the track has been leaning towards it's deathbed for a few years now. F1 & MotoGP costs are extreme, any other races aren't promoted well & usually are flops.

They said last year, during one of the F1 practice sessions, that some places on the track had settled up to a full meter from where it originally was when the track was built. A bunch of the bumps leading up to turn one had to be ground down for them a bit as well.

Track had seen SEVERAL bad storms and flooding over the years, including a couple of hurricanes

Wish they didn't have to replace it because the racing was getting slightly better as the track aged and settled

originally posted in the NASCAR thread, but because the IndyCar, NASCAR & IMSA shops are inter-linked, it's fair to post here as well:

Hopefully they can pull it off.

Personally, I'd play it safe with a 400 mile race without fans, one weekend show and then make a proper comeback next year in may, as usual.

It would actually work for intended new entries to have a dress rehearsal for the proper 500.
